The president is the principal leader of the club and has overall responsibility for its administration.

The president sets the overall direction of the club (consistent with the views of its members), helps the committee to prioritise its goals and keeps the committee on track by working within that overall framework. At an operational level, a large role of the president is to facilitate effective committee meetings.

The president is elected by the members of the club and is responsible for representing the views of the these members.

The President should:

  • Represent the club at any function, meeting, or event which the committee thinks it is fit that the club be represented.
  • Present a written report on the activities of the club during the previous year at the AGM.
  • Ensure that club policies are upheld, reviewed, and updated at regular intervals.
  • Assist the committee in the creation, renewal, and approval of club policies where needed for good governance.
  • Assist the executive committee in the development of the annual one-year operational plan.
  • Be subscribed to tua-admin and any other committee and executive email lists relevant to the club.
  • Complete a handover interview on entering and exiting the position.
