Vice President
Summary
The vice president shall assist the president in the overall management of the club and all its operations.
Responsibilities
The vice president is elected by the club's members and responsible for representing the views of these members.
The Vice president should:
Act as the president's deputy and shall assist the president in his or her duties at all times.
Be appointed as the public officer of the club liaising with members of the public, affiliated bodies and government agencies, unless another committee member has been appointed as public officer.
In the absence of the president the vice president:
should act as chairperson of any committee meetings.
will act on behalf of the president. Therefore it is required that the vice president be familiar with all of the duties of the president in preparation for a term in office.
Assist the executive committee in the development of one-year operational plans.
Assist the committee in the creation, renewal and approval of the club's policies for good governance where needed.
Be subscribed to tua-admin and any other committee and executive email lists relevant to the club.
Complete a handover interview on entering and exiting position.
Essential Criteria
Access to Internet facilities (ie. email and web browsing)
Access to word processing and spreadsheet programs.
Membership of the club and the AFDA.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Ability to work well as part of a team.
Desirable Criteria
Ideally the Vice President is someone who:
Can communicate effectively and has good interpersonal skills.
Is well organised and self-motivated.
Solid understanding of AFDA, TUA, and club operations, rules, and policies where applicable.
Is well informed in regards to all of the club's activities.
Has previous experience as an administrator at either a national, state, or local level.

Term of Appointment and Time Commitment Requirements
The vice president is elected at the club's AGM and is appointed for a term of 12 months.
The estimated time commitment required as the vice president of the club is 5 hours per week.
